Changes in the management of the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival
Sini Keränen, who has been the Executive Director of Pro Kaustinen for six years, is moving on to new responsibilities. On 3 April, Minna Huuskonen, who has extensive experience in management and production of the Helsinki Festival and the Viitasaar Music A Time Festival, will take over as the festival's deputy executive director. Vacancy: accommodation coordinator
We are looking for an accommodation coordinator for the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. The coordinator's tasks include taking care of accommodation for performers, volunteers and staff: mapping accommodation, dealing with permits and supervision, receiving accommodation reservations, arranging accommodation, running the accommodation office and customer service, and guiding volunteers. Konsta Jylhä competition on the theme of ancient Finland
This time the Konsta Jylhä competition is aimed at 2-4 instrumental ensembles with the theme of ancient Finland. The final battle will take place at the festival on Mon-Thu 9-10 July! The ninth national Konsta Jylhä competition will be held on the theme of early Finnish-Karelian folk music, which has been called, for example, muinaissuomalaiseksi or kalevalaiseksi. Traditional areas include hollowed-out kantele, horns, shepherd's crook and shepherd's crook instruments, as well as poetry singing.
