The Monday of the festival has been designated as Kaustinen Region Day. In practice, this means that the sub-region and its member municipalities offer free admission to all participants on Monday. In addition, the municipalities will be prominently displayed in the opening procession.
- The regional cooperation will bring a big crowd on the opening day. A fun and games round of Crete will be run from 14:00. You can participate by dancing or singing. Each day is packed with activities from dawn to dusk, and the action picks up as the week progresses. Last year we recorded around 47,000 visits during the festival week, and we're preparing for the same this time," says the festival's executive director. Silja Heikkilä tells you.
The opening procession will leave from the Osuusmeijer yard at 17.00 and will lead the festival people to the opening ceremony of the Keskipohjanmaa Arena, where the new champion players for 2019 will be announced.
You can get in the festival mood already on Sunday 7 July, when the Night Walk starts at 20:00. You can explore Kaustis' nature and cultural landscape on 4.5 km or 15 km routes together with Perhonjokilaakso hikers. There will of course be musical performances along the way.
