The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival showcase series is becoming an established part of the festival's programme. For the 2015 Folk Music Festival showcase series, three artists or groups are again being sought.
The performers selected for the series will each receive two seats on the main stages of the festival - depending on the line-up, on sound stages (Keskipohjanmaa Arena, Café Mondo, Kallioklubi, Kaustinen Hall) and/or acoustic, intimate concert venues (Pelimannitalo, Iholla Hall). In addition, the showcaset will have wide visibility in the marketing and communication of the Folk Music Festival (print materials, web, press events during the festival week).
Performers selected for the Showcase series are not paid for their performances and travel costs are at their own risk. Performers will be provided with meals on the days of their performance and will have the opportunity to stay overnight in the festival's shared accommodation free of charge. Performers will also receive a festival pass valid for the duration of the festival.
In addition to ensembles, solo artists or folk dance groups can also apply for the series.
