Polenta moment after the awards ceremony on the wall of Pelimannitalo in Kaustinen.

The violin ensemble Polenta has won the national Konsta Jylhä competition in Kaustinen. The jury decided on Wednesday evening to distribute the 10 000 euro prize among all five finalists. The duo Elias Frigård & Veera Kuisma came second. Third place went to LempiLempi and the NAM trio. Fourth place went to the duo Anne-Mari Kanniainen & Heikki Ruokangas.
The Konsta Jylhä competition was organised in connection with the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival for the 10th time. The theme was Konsta Jylhä himself. His music was to be interpreted in a traditional or free interpretation. In the final, the bands had 15 minutes to play in front of a jury.
The jury of the competition consisted of the chairman Hannu Saha, professor emeritus Heikki Laitinen and master gambler Ritva Talvitie. The competition was organised by Pelimannitalo in cooperation with the Folk Music Institute.
