This year's Kaustinen Folk Music Festival has three temporary vacancies: a production manager, a programme producer and an accommodation coordinator. Each position requires a capacity for pressure and creativity in problem solving.
The part-time positions for Production Manager and Programme Producer start on 15.2. The deadline for applications is 1.2.
The Accommodation Coordinator starts on a contract basis on 1.4. or as agreed. Working hours are irregular, with the busiest period during the festival week 12-18 July.
The job of the Production Manager will end on 31.8.2021, the other two on 31.7.2021.

Job description of the Production Manager
Responsible for site production (production of the site, construction and demolition of structures and facilities), drawing up the cleaning plan, booking accommodation, updating the security and rescue plan and developing the security organisation, planning the festival bus and other logistics.
The Production Manager is the supervisor of the Building Team Manager, the Security Manager, the Decorator, the Cleaning and Accommodation Coordinator and the Festival Info Manager. The broad job description will be shaped and weighted according to the strengths of the person selected.
Job description of a software producer
Managing the pelican application process and planning the pelican, folk dance and children's programme together with the Programme Manager, liaising with the pelicans, participating in the programme team, assisting with marketing and publicity (programme), managing the festival's virtual video platform and organising the pelican programme and providing technical support to the pelicans. Any experience in web-based implementations is a plus.
At the festival, the Programme Producer is responsible for the functioning of the Games Man programme and for planning the activities and shifts of his/her volunteer team. The broad job description will be shaped by the strengths of the person selected.
Previous work and volunteering experience at festivals, leadership skills and the ability to throw yourself in the mix will help a lot. The ability to work under pressure and creative problem-solving are also important qualities.
Job description of the Accommodation Coordinator
Providing accommodation for performers, volunteers and staff: mapping accommodation, drawing up an accommodation safety and emergency plan, negotiating accommodation supervision contracts, taking accommodation reservations, allocating accommodation, running the festival accommodation office, customer service and guiding volunteers.
Previous customer service experience is required and experience of working in a festival environment would be an advantage. Knowledge of Kaustinen and the surrounding area, experience in a supervisory or managerial role, good interpersonal skills and flexibility are also required.
