Antti Mäkelä call Jarkko Aholan in a band, but right now he's into folk music. The rock drummer from Lieto came to Kaustinen as a guitarist in the Turku Folks! band. The Kaustinen experience has been a first for Mäkelä.

- A great event! First of all, I was surprised by the sheer number of stages here and the number of gigs going on all the time. I was like, what should I be paying attention to here?.

Antti Mäkelä came to the festival with his family. Virpi-spouse plays the violin and a 12-year-old Sofa-daughter plays ukulele in the 70-piece Turku Folks! band.

- This is a great event, with audiences of all ages and also musicians. It has also been fun to see professional musicians playing with amateurs and beginners alike. Few festivals have such a low threshold to jump on stage and perform!

Mäkelä is delighted that his own parents in their eighties came to see the shows.

- They came in a van, where they are also staying. So it's a real festival atmosphere!
