Kaustinen Folk Music Festival increased attendance, surplus result
Pro Kaustinen ry, the production organisation that organises the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, made a surplus of EUR 12,077 in the 2019 financial year due to an increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous year. Year after year, hundreds of musicians, singers and dancers flock to the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival to enjoy a great atmosphere, a diverse, rich and surprising programme. Silja Heikkilä, Executive Director of Pro Kaustinen ry, the organiser of the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, is resigning from the association. Heikkilä will leave her position and her related positions of trust as of 14.10.2019, taking annual leave until the end of her employment. A clear increase in the number of players and more tickets sold than last year
The number of players at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival increased significantly this year. A total of 4,340 pelimannis performed (last year 4,049), which makes Pro Kaustinen's chairman Ira Korkala particularly happy: - This was the 52nd time that people played and danced in Kaustinen.
