Dear festival guests! On weekends, you should make time to arrive at the festival area. This is especially important if you are coming by car, if you are arriving for a specific performance.
The marked parking areas are easy to find when you turn from the violin sculpture roundabout onto Pajalantie.
Parking spaces are marked with P1–P5 numbers, and traffic controllers show the places to motorists.
– The parking areas will most likely be full, but don’t worry, because Kaustinen has plenty of space, promises Valtteri Valo, the festival’s operations manager.
– The festival bus is definitely worth favoring. It is by far the best way to easily get straight to the gate.
The festival buses were packed with people from Kokkola city center and the railway station. The bus service is available every two hours every day until the early hours of the morning. The Kaustinen local transport buses operate three routes through the villages and several accommodation locations. The local buses can also take you to Halsua and Veteli late at night.
There is a speed limit of 30 km/h around the festival area, for the first time also on Pajalantiellä. Especially there, drivers are expected to be cautious when the festival crowd walks on the road. There are also some rental electric scooters in the festival traffic. They can be driven at a maximum speed of 20 km/h.
The king of traffic is the pedestrian, whom everyone else watches out for. In the center of Kaustinen, a lot of people walk between the festival area, the camping area, and the shops. (Photo: Krista Järvelä)
