Festival of the year
The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival was first held in 1968 and has since become one of the most important folk music events in the Nordic region and throughout Europe. The board of Finland Festivals named the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival as the festival of the year in 2024, and the event was named festival of the year for the second time at the Music x Media Industry Awards gala in September 2025.

All these musical worlds resonate seamlessly together at today’s festival.People return to this family friendly celebration year after year, drawn back by the unforgettable atmosphere that is uniquely Kaustinen.
