From 2022, the Jaettuna parempi concept has become an integral part of the festival programme. These groups have been part of the concept in previous years; folk dance groups Frilla, K´eiku, Koski Tl m:t, Pähiät and Tikki, and folk music bands Centria Folk, Kokkola Folk and Rällä.
An unaccompanied folk dance group can apply to join in Jaettuna parempi concept and get accepted as an official Pelimanni performer at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. Jaettuna parempi dance groups will work together with a band of music students and perform together at the festival.
The main idea behind the concept of Jaettuna parempi is to create an opportunity for folk dance group without an accompaniment to participate in the festival. And on the other hand, also make visible the importance of playing music for dance.
