\t\t\t\tKaustisen N\u00e4pp\u00e4rit ry. has registered the name \u201dN\u00e4pp\u00e4ri\u201d as a trademark as of 30.6.2015. The trademark protection covers the field of music education for children and young people.<\/p>\n
The registration is the result of a generational change in the teaching profession, growing popularity and preparations for internationalisation. The registration has no immediate financial objectives and does not entail changes to established activities. Mauno J\u00e4rvel\u00e4, the creator of keyboard pedagogy, was in favour of the application.<\/p>\n
\u201dUntil then, keyboard education was closely associated with Mauno J\u00e4rvela. Now Mauno is gradually retiring to the back row and handing over responsibility to the generation of teachers he has raised. When the activity becomes a multi-faceted one, and there is no longer a diploma for a Sight-reading teacher, it is no longer automatic to know who has the necessary skills and experience for the job. We want to be able to check that in the future, too, every course and performance under the name of \u201dKeyboarding\" has content that is in line with keyboard pedagogy and enough experienced instructors,\" says Lauri Oino, chairman of the association.<\/p>\n
Keyboard pedagogy is a folk music-based method of teaching music created by Mauno J\u00e4rvel\u00e4, a violin pedagogue from Kaustis. Every year, dozens of week-long or weekend-long courses are held both in Finland and abroad, and N\u00e4pp\u00e4re regularly organises extensive international cooperation projects. Year-round N\u00e4pp\u00e4ri groups operate in Kaustinen and Helsinki. Kaustinen N\u00e4pp\u00e4rit ry., founded in 1987, is the supporting association of the Kaustinen N\u00e4pp\u00e4r Group and the organiser and coordinator of the N\u00e4pp\u00e4r projects. Short courses are coordinated by the Folk Music Institute.<\/p>\n
